Basketball Recap: Sammy Alexandre's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wootton over Blake

Wootton was the 64-54 winner over Blake when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wootton Patriots took a 66-51 bruising from the Blake Bengals on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly 15 points.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sammy Alexandre, who posted 18 points and six boards. The contest was Alexandre's third in a row with at least 18 points. Brenden Famulare was another key player, putting up 15 points and five rebounds.

Wootton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games. The victory was the ninth in a row for Blake, bringing their record for this year to 21-1.

As of now, neither Wootton nor Blake have any future games scheduled.
