Basketball Game Preview: La Conner Braves vs. Coupeville Wolves

The La Conner Braves will venture away from home to face off against the Coupeville Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Conner is looking for their season's first win.

On Tuesday, La Conner ended up a good deal behind Orcas Island and lost 68-50. While the Braves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Vikings 19-13 in the first quarter.

La Conner's loss came about despite a quality game from Christian Fix, who posted eight points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Coupeville lost 67-43 to Mount Vernon Christian on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 128th).

Coupeville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for La Conner, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.

La Conner was taken down by Coupeville 64-30 when the teams last played on January 9th. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
