Football Recap: Aquinas Institute Takes a Loss

Aquinas Institute was the 48-14 winner over Rush-Henrietta when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Little Irish took a hard 21-7 fall against the Royal Comets on Thursday. The Little Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jeff Logan, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Brendan Mangone had a dynamite game For Rush-Henrietta., throwing for 271 yards and three touchdowns. Those 271 passing yards gave Mangone a new career-high.

Aquinas Institute now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Rush-Henrietta, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Aquinas Institute will take on rival Penfield at 12:00 p.m. on the 27th. Meanwhile, Rush-Henrietta is set to square off against their familiar foe University Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
