Basketball Game Preview: Tinley Park Titans vs. Sandburg Eagles

Tinley Park hasn't had much luck against Sandburg recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tinley Park Titans will host the Sandburg Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Tinley Park will be strutting in after a win while Sandburg will be coming in after a loss.

Tinley Park took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Thornton Fractional South by a score of 64-51. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Red Wolves: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Sandburg ended up a good deal behind Lockport on Tuesday and lost 50-34. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Porters are ranked 115th).

Tinley Park pushed their record up to 14-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points over those games. As for Sandburg, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-14.
