Basketball Recap: Silex Comes Up Short

Silex was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 60-50 to Columbia Independent.

Blake Morris was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds for Columbia Independent. Morris' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deolu Adibiyi, who posted ten points and seven boards.

Silex's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Columbia Independent, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Silex will be playing in front of their home fans against Louisiana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia Independent, they are taking a road trip to challenge Calvary Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
