Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Fairfax's Winning Streak + How To Watch

After flying high against South County last Thursday, Fairfax came back down to earth. The Lions came up short against the West Springfield Spartans on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

While Fairfax was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into West Springfield's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-20.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Springfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Audrey Busch, who had 18 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Busch has posted since back in September. Mealea Menh was another key player, getting four aces and three digs.

Fairfax's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for West Springfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Fairfax will square off against rival Alexandria City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, West Springfield is set to challenge their familiar foe West Potomac at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
