Basketball Recap: Peck Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Honza Polhman and Cal Heiden

Peck lost against Dryden back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Peck Pirates took a hard 35-18 fall against the Dryden Cardinals. The game marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Cal Heiden and Honza Polhman certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Heiden went 5 of 12 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds, while Polhman posted two points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most boards Heiden has posted since back in February of 2024.

Peck's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-7. As for Dryden, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peck will square off against Deckerville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Deckerville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Peck surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dryden, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Dryden Cardinals duke it out with the All Saints Central Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dryden has three straight victories, All Saints Central has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
