McAlester suffers fourth straight loss on the road

Recap: McAlester Buffaloes vs. Coweta Tigers

The McAlester Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coweta. While losing is never fun, McAlester can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Coweta is ranked 157th).

Noah Cooper had a dynamite game for Coweta, scoring 14 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Coulton Pierce, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.

McAlester dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Coweta, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

McAlester on the road again on Tuesday and play against Edison at 8:00 p.m. on January 30th. Edison will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Coweta, Coweta and Holland Hall will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
