Carthage had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 42-7 win over the Neosho Wildcats. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Wildcats are ranked 89th).

When it comes to explaining why Neosho lost on Friday, don't look at Keisean Rhone. Despite the final result, he rushed for 187 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 40 receiving yards.

The victory (which was Carthage's sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. As for Neosho, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Carthage will face off against Republic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carthage will need to watch out since Republic has now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. Neosho does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
