Basketball Game Preview: Lee County Yellow Jackets vs. Western Harnett Eagles

The Lee County Yellow Jackets will challenge the Western Harnett Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lee County will be strutting in after a win while Western Harnett will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Lee County was able to grind out a solid victory over Hoke County, taking the game 40-28.

It was another big night for Cherish Smith, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Western Harnett played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Overhills and fell 67-34. The Eagles were down 49-27 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Lee County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Western Harnett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Lee County strolled past Western Harnett in their previous matchup back in November by a score of 44-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lee County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
