Preview: Broken Bow Savages vs. Poteau Pirates
Broken Bow and Poteau are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. Both teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Broken Bow lost to North Rock Creek at home by a decisive 56-37 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Broken Bow has scored all season.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Poteau, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-48 loss to Wister on Saturday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Poteau in their matchups with Wister: they've now lost three in a row.
Broken Bow's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Poteau, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Broken Bow strolled past Poteau in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 62-46. Will Broken Bow repeat their success, or does Poteau have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
