Basketball Game Preview: Paint Rock Indians vs. Highland Hornets

The Paint Rock Indians will take on the Highland Hornets in a tournament on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Paint Rock is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Trent on Tuesday. Paint Rock narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Trent 46-43. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highland). They claimed a resounding 67-36 victory over Loraine. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Hornets have posted since December 15, 2023.

The victory made it two in a row for Highland and bumps their season record up to 5-6. As for Paint Rock, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Paint Rock couldn't quite finish off Highland in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 41-38. Can Paint Rock avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
