Basketball Recap: Moreau Catholic Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

If Newark Memorial wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Moreau Catholic, they should've done a better job of containing Kellen Hampton. The Moreau Catholic Mariners blew past the Newark Memorial Cougars 80-39 on Friday thanks in part to Hampton, who made all 8 shots he took racking up 21 points and three steals. What's more, he also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Jalen Arnold was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Moreau Catholic's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.7 points per game. As for Newark Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
