Basketball Recap: East Carter Find Success

East Carter got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They secured a 54-49 W over the Ellington Whippets on Tuesday. For the Redbirds, this counts as revenge for the 61-53 victory the Whippets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

East Carter's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Ellington, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

East Carter will square off against Van Buren at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Van Buren knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully East Carter likes a good challenge. As for Ellington, they will head out to square off against Clearwater at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
