Soccer Game Preview: River City vs. Grant

The River City Raiders will take on the Grant Pacers in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. River City's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

River City fell victim to Monterey Trail and their airtight defense on Saturday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Mustangs are ranked 67th).

Meanwhile, Grant put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Pleasant Grove. While the Pacers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

River City's loss dropped their record down to 0-2-3. As for Grant, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0-1.

River City skirted past Grant 3-2 when the teams last played back in January. Does River City have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grant turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
