Platte Canyon hadn't done well against Lake County recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Huskies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Panthers. The win was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Platte Canyon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 22-25, 25-12, 25-21, 15-13.

Platte Canyon's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for Lake County, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Platte Canyon has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Middle Park on the 20th. As for Lake County, they are taking a road trip to take on Arrupe Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
