Baseball Recap: Fort Collins Gets the Win

Fort Collins won the last time they faced Horizon and things went their way on Saturday too. The Fort Collins Lambkins skirted past the Horizon Hawks 3-2. That's two games straight that the Lambkins have won by just one run.

Kaden Baete looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaden Souders, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

Fort Collins now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Horizon, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Fort Collins will square off against Regis Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Horizon, they will head out on the road to challenge Grand Junction Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
