Baseball Recap: Woodburn Comes Up Short

Woodburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They came up short against the Crescent Valley Raiders, falling 15-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 8-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Woodburn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avie Quintero, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double. That double was Quintero's first of the season.

Woodburn's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Crescent Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-14 record this season.

While Woodburn had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
