Softball Recap: Cookeville Has No Trouble Against William Blount

Cookeville saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the William Blount Governors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavaliers.

Cookeville got a big performance out of Aspen Lyles, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Lyles a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Kadie Presley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Cookeville's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for William Blount, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-6 record.

Coming up, Cookeville will take on Rhea County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for William Blount, they will square off against Powell at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
