Volleyball Recap: Corydon Central Takes a Loss

Corydon Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Borden Braves. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Braves when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Corydon Central's offense was headlined by Brookyn Simpson and Delaney Savely, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Khloe Kraft and her 13 assists. Simpson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Leading Borden to victory were Eva Eversmann and Kinley Ledbetter. Eversmann had 16 digs and two assists, while Ledbetter had five digs and three aces. That's the most digs Eversmann has posted over her last six games.

Corydon Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Borden, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Corydon Central has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Shoals on the 6th. As for Borden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Loogootee on the 6th.
