Softball Game Preview: Lejeune Devil Pups vs. Northside - Pinetown Panthers

Lejeune hasn't had much luck against Northside - Pinetown recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Devil Pups will welcome the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Lejeune has given up an average of 11.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lejeune is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Monday. They lost 15-2 to Southside.

Lejeune saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kadence Gordon, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Northside - Pinetown made sure to put some runs up on the board against Richmond last Saturday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 18-3 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on EllaKate Hanna, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Berry, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Northside - Pinetown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lejeune's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13-1. As for Northside - Pinetown, they moved to 10-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
