Softball Recap: Middleburg Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Middleburg came into Saturday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers by a score of 6-1 on Saturday.

Madisyn Strickland was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Mallory Ficklin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

The victory got Middleburg back to even at 9-9. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middleburg will challenge Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rockledge at 4:30 p.m. on the 14th.
