Baseball Recap: Northwestern Lehigh Triumphs

Northwestern Lehigh won the last time they faced Jim Thorpe and things went their way on Sunday too. The Tigers came out on top against the Olympians by a score of 9-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Jesse Neupauer got the start for Northwestern Lehigh and what a start it was: he pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits.

On the hitting side, Northwestern Lehigh got a massive performance out of Luke Marazzo, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Marazzo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Rex, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Northwestern Lehigh's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Jim Thorpe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Northwestern Lehigh has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Blue Mountain on the 4th. As for Jim Thorpe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Lehighton on the 5th.
