Basketball Game Preview: Rosamond Roadrunners vs. Arvin Bears

The Rosamond Roadrunners will challenge the Arvin Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Rosamond is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering California City just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Ravens.

Meanwhile, Arvin came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 45-36.

Arvin's win came from a few key players Rosamond will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Miguel Damian, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Xzavier Pierson-Brooks, who posted 13 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Arvin's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Rosamond, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Rosamond couldn't quite finish off Arvin when the teams last played back in December of 2022 and fell 53-50. Thankfully for Rosamond, Zachariah Look (who put up 22 points and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
