Basketball Preview: Follett Panthers vs. Darrouzett
Follett is 9-1 against the since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Follett Panthers will head out on the road to take on Darrouzett at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Follett has eight straight wins, the have 16 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Follett stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Fort Elliott as Follett made off with a 73-51 win.
Maddox Miller was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. David Meeks was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Darrouzett was beaten by the Panthers 74-25 back in January. Darrouzett has struggled against the Panthers recently, as their match back in January was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Follett's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Darrouzett, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
Everything came up roses for Follett against the in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 74-25 win. With Follett ahead 44-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.
