Volleyball Recap: Braelyn Adkins Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Greenbrier East

Herbert Hoover was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Greenbrier East Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Tuesday.

Herbert Hoover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braelyn Adkins, who had 19 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Adkins has posted over her last six contests. Another player making a difference was Kylie Hackney, who had 14 assists and nine digs.

Reagan Cline and Emily McClure certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Cline had 13 digs and one assist, while McClure had ten digs and two aces. Cline is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Herbert Hoover's record is now 42-7-1. As for Greenbrier East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-17-4 record this season.
