Basketball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 48-38 to the Central Christian Academy Lions.

Ashlynn Johns had an outrageously good game for Central Christian Academy as she went 7-for-10 on her way to 19 points. The dominant performance also gave Johns a new career-high in field goal percentage (70%). Another player making a difference was Corinne Rauch, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Central Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-24 defeat against Cedar Vale/Dexter on the 11th. As for Central Christian Academy, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions face off against the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
