Soccer Game Preview: Perquimans vs. Henderson Collegiate + Official Tickets

The Perquimans Pirates will square off against the Henderson Collegiate Pride at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Perquimans' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Perquimans fell victim to Holmes and their airtight defense two weeks ago. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aces. While losing is never fun, Perquimans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while Holmes are ranked 164th).

Perquimans was without their leading scorer, Bartosz Walachowski, in Wednesday's contest. With Walachowski sitting this one out, Trevor Rountree got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 43.3).

Meanwhile, Henderson Collegiate and Excelsior Classical Academy combined for 27 shots on goal on Wednesday, which explains the impressive five total goals scored. The Pride came up short against the Flying Lions, falling 4-1. Henderson Collegiate haven't had much luck with Excelsior Classical Academy recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Perquimans' loss dropped their record down to 6-12-2. As for Henderson Collegiate, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-16.
