Softball Recap: Fruitdale Comes Up Short

Fruitdale lost against Washington County two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Fruitdale Pirates came up short against the Washington County Bulldogs, falling 13-6. The Pirates' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Kk Crager made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Jacey Frazier was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Fruitdale's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Washington County, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6.

Coming up, Fruitdale will be playing in front of their home fans against Choctaw County at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Washington County, they will host Thomasville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomasville's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Washington County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
