Recap: George West Longhorns vs. Odem Owls
The George West Longhorns posted their biggest win since December 9, 2023 on Friday. They breezed by Odem on the road to the tune of 51-21. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
Odem's loss came despite strong showings from Jaelynn Garcia and Skylan Rivera. Garcia scored 12 points along with two steals, while Rivera scored three points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garcia has scored all season.
The win was the third in a row for George West, bringing their record for this year to 18-10. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25 points. As for Odem, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-27.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. George West will face off against Goliad at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Goliad will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Odem, they will head out on the road to take on Aransas Pass at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Aransas Pass is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
