After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clarion Area, Elk County Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Bradford Owls 4-2. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Owls recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Matthew Gilmore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Elk County Catholic's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Brem, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI was Brem's first of the season.
