Softball Game Preview: American Canyon Wolves vs. Casa Grande Gauchos

The American Canyon Wolves will face off against the Casa Grande Gauchos at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. American Canyon has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Casa Grande will come in with three straight wins.

American Canyon came up short against Northgate on Wednesday, falling 11-3.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Casa Grande). Everything went their way against Napa on Monday as they made off with an 18-2 victory. The Gauchos not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24, 2024 (when they won 17-0).

Lucy Da Roza was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauren Ketchu, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Casa Grande always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Napa only posted an OBP of .318.

Casa Grande pushed their record up to 13-5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for American Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
