Baseball Game Preview: High Tech Mesa Thunder vs. Bayfront Charter Sharks

The High Tech Mesa Thunder will challenge the Bayfront Charter Sharks at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. High Tech Mesa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, High Tech Mesa was able to grind out a solid victory over Bonsall, taking the game 13-8.

High Tech Mesa let KJ Allen and Rocco D'Esti run wild. Allen got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while D'Esti got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave Allen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Devin Schiel, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Bayfront Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-2 to Gompers Prep Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Sharks have suffered against the Eagles since February 25, 2020.

High Tech Mesa is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Bayfront Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Everything went High Tech Mesa's way against Bayfront Charter when the teams last played two weeks ago, as High Tech Mesa made off with a 16-0 victory. Do the Thunder have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sharks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
