Softball Recap: Ocean Springs Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Ocean Springs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the St. Martin Yellow Jackets, falling 15-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Greyhounds have suffered since February 18th.

Gracie McDonald was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Taylor Farra, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Ocean Springs' defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-8. As for St. Martin, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Ocean Springs will be taking part in a tournament against Satsuma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Martin, they are taking a road trip to face off against Gautier at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Gautier has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something St. Martin will no doubt try to take advantage of.
