Volleyball Recap: Concordia Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Concordia and Riley County meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Falcons. The Panthers have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While Concordia ultimately came up short, they really made Riley County work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-24.

Despite the loss, Concordia saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bridgett Blochlinger had nine assists and six digs.

Concordia's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Riley County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-10.

Concordia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Southeast of Saline on the 4th. As for Riley County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Marysville on the 4th.
