Volleyball Recap: Valmeyer Takes a Loss

Valmeyer extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-19-1. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dupo Tigers. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

As for Dupo, their win bumped their record up to 6-15-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 4th.

Dupo was led to victory by Kylie Fillinger and Lilianna McMannis. Fillinger had 31 digs, while McMannis had 14 digs. Those 31 digs gave Fillinger a new career-high.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valmeyer will take on Steeleville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dupo, they will challenge Sparta at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
