Recap: Jeannette Jayhawks vs. Leechburg Blue Devils

In what's become a running theme this season, the Jeannette Jayhawks gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 68-21 victory over Leechburg. The win was nothing new for Jeannette as they're now sitting on four straight.

Jeannette's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Mallich led the charge by scoring 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Markus McGowan, who scored ten points.

Jayden Floyd and Rocco Vigna certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Floyd scored 11 points, while Vigna scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 52.4% of Leechburg's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Leechburg struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Jeannette has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Leechburg, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Jeannette will face off against the Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Leechburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Centurions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Greensburg Central Catholic's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games.
