Volleyball Recap: Alvin's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Alvin came into Friday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Elgin Wildcats on Friday.

Payton Ashley paced Alvin's offense, picking up ten kills. Ashley got some help from Hayleigh Griffin and her 13 assists. Ashley also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Laila Johnson, racking up two apiece.

Alvin's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Elgin, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Alvin has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Bastrop on the 22nd. Hopefully Elgin paid attention to the Yellowjackets' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Yellowjackets at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
