Baseball Recap: Fayetteville Has No Trouble Against Lincoln

Fayetteville barely beat Lincoln the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Fayetteville Wolves put the hurt on the Lincoln Golden Bears with a sharp 8-1 victory on Saturday. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Jackson Payton tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Carter Goins was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Fayetteville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Lincoln and nudges their season record down to 10-4.

Coming up, Fayetteville will face off against Childersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will head out to square off against Vincent at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
