Softball Recap: El Dorado Springs' Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but El Dorado Springs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Butler Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 30, 2024.

Lacyn Perrodin spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brooke Coale, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Coale is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

The victory (which was El Dorado Springs' fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.8 runs. As for Butler, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Looking ahead, El Dorado Springs will head out on the road to take on Buffalo at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Butler, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-7 defeat against Lamar on the 11th.
