Baseball Game Preview: Clovis East Timberwolves vs. Buchanan Bears

Clovis East is 1-9 against Buchanan since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Timberwolves will face off against the Bears at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Clovis East 3.3, Buchanan 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

While Clovis East's victory against Central East wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Timberwolves skirted past the Bengals 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Buchanan waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Broncos 10-4. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Buchanan's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clovis East, their victory bumped their record up to 18-8.

Clovis East came out on top in a nail-biter against Buchanan in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Timberwolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
