The Horizon Huskies's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Horizon had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed by Canyon View at home to the tune of 77-21. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 57-21.

Jase Ashley and Bodie Zamorano were among the main playmakers for Horizon as the former threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes and the latter rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns. Zamorano has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Vincent Valentino, who picked up 101 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North made easy work of Marana on Thursday and carried off a 48-24 victory. The victory was just what American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North needed coming off of a 51-27 loss in their prior game.

American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Conner White, who threw for 346 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt. Brandon Phelps was another key contributor, picking up 215 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North's defense and their four sacks. Noah Scheurn was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.

Horizon pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
