Football Recap: Rogers Takes a Loss

Rogers and Middletown pushed the score to 41-34 the last time they played Middletown, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Vikings fell just short of the Islanders by a score of 3-0. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Islanders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Rafael Palencia threw for 172 yards on nine of 18 attempts. Yarel Fuentes was his top target, picking up 116 receiving yards. On the ground, Derek Lloyd rushed for 66 yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Rogers and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Middletown, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Rogers has already played their next game, a 12-7 victory against Chariho on the 19th. As for Middletown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 38-6 defeat against South Kingstown on the 19th.
