Baseball Game Preview: Bothell Cougars vs. Juanita Ravens

For the second straight game, Bothell will face off against Juanita. The Cougars will take on the Ravens at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Bothell turned things around against Juanita on Wednesday. They skirted past the Ravens 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since March 16th.

Kam Matthews tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Bothell is 2-1 when Matthews allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Cam Wallace was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Bothell: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-6 otherwise. Carson Herrick was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

Bothell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Bothell's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Juanita, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
