Basketball Recap: Concordia Lutheran's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Concordia Lutheran needed a changed in momentum after dropping nine straight games and they got it from Ghaven Mittal. The Concordia Lutheran Crusaders came out on top against the St. John XXIII Lions by a score of 76-66 on Friday thanks in part to Mittal, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 26 points and five rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Concordia Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 5-20. As for St. John XXIII, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Concordia Lutheran will challenge St. Thomas Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Thomas Catholic will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Concordia Lutheran surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. John XXIII, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the St. John XXIII Lions face off against the St. Pius X Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
