Penobscot Valley strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners with a sharp 11-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-0 on May 9th.

Lauren Veino made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lila Cummings was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Kamryn Miller was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Penobscot Valley's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Deer Isle-Stonington, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Penobscot Valley will face off against Stearns at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Deer Isle-Stonington, they will host Greenville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
