Basketball Recap: Hough Huskies vs. Chambers Cougars
Even though the Hough Huskies have not done well against the Chambers Cougars recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Hough came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 51-40. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hough also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Jacquelyn Jakubecy was nothing short of spectacular: she scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Alexis Otto was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Chambers' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nia Kirk, who scored seven points.
Hough is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Chambers, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hough will take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Mecklenburg is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Chambers, they will be playing at home against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
