Basketball Game Preview: Nansemond River Warriors vs. King's Fork Bulldogs

Nansemond River is 0-10 against King's Fork since December of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Nansemond River Warriors will look to defend their home court against the King's Fork Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Nansemond River knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully King's Fork likes a good challenge.

Nansemond River will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Western Branch, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Nansemond River walked away with a 64-53 victory over Western Branch on Tuesday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Bruins are ranked 141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, King's Fork entered their tilt with Hickory on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hawks 77-44. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 23 points or more this season.

Nansemond River is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for King's Fork, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2.
