Volleyball Recap: Layla Marino's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Valley View over Pocono Mountain East

It was a proper cat-fight when Valley View took on Pocono Mountain East on Thursday. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Cardinals. The Cougars have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-20, 25-9.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Layla Marino, who had eight digs. Hanarra Semedo-Timas was another key player, getting seven kills, three digs, and one block.

Valley View's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Pocono Mountain East, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6-1.

Coming up, Valley View will welcome Crestwood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pocono Mountain East, they will head out to challenge East Stroudsburg South at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
