Baseball Recap: West Marion Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

There's no place like home for West Marion, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the St. Stanislaus Rock-a-Chaws 2-1 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Rock-a-Chaws last Tuesday, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

West Marion pushed their record up to 9-15 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for St. Stanislaus, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Marion beat the Rock-a-Chaws by a score of 1-0 later that day.
